Editors' rant: Welcome to VCE Summer School 08

Editors' web edition note: Hello hello... and welcome to the Web edition of The Zine. Now essentially the web and print copies will contain the same stories with a few exceptions - the entertainment corner including all the puzzles and horoscopes will not be included in the web ed. The teeny tiny 'Did you know?' of the day will not appear in the web ed either. Weather will not be printed... but hey, we're on the internet. You can get much more up to date weather info by clicking on the weather feed which is on the side menu on the right! We steal our weather forecast from there anyway! Do not fear about these sections not being on the web ed though - we will include an electronic copy of print version (PDF format) every day though which you can grab through the Permalinks side link.

The more exciting part of the web ed is that it will hopefully contain more multimedia content - in the form of all the lovely colour photos we plan to be taking throughout the duration of Summer School, to little online web polls etc. It's also going to be more interactive... you guys can post comments to the stories that appear here on the net.

Remember, if you have any suggestions, feedback, ideas or if you'd like to submit a story, letter, photos, a piece of prose, declaration of love or anything else that springs to mind... get in contact with us via our email... SummerSchoolZine at gmail dot com. Oh course, the at = @ and dot = . though!

Yeah... well, that's all. Hope you enjoy this chocka-blocked issue of The Zine. Below is our Editors' Rant from today's print issue which is fairly redundant if you've made it to our web edition.

The printed rant:

G’day everybody and welcome to the first issue of the one and only official source of information for VCE Summer School 2008 (VCE SS) - The Zine.

We are pumped about bringing you all the latest goss from VCE SS and hope that although you may be feeling nervous or anxious, that you too are excited about the upcoming fortnight.

One big move lined up for this year is to take The Zine into an online space… thus you can find us online at SummerSchoolZine dot blogspot dot com. The full normal looking address is at the bottom of the page… You can also email us with feedback and input at: SummerSchoolZine at gmail dot com.

Apart from delivering you The Zine in cyberspace, we’re also hoping to utilize the site to post some extras including colour photos from events (since we only have B&W privileges … sob sob). So be sure to look out for us roving around at many of the group activities planned, camera in hand ready to snap you guys in action.

Hoping to catch ya soon,

Your eds - Sheryl & Jen
